Guiding You Through the Process

Step 1: Get in Touch

Your first step is a free, no-obligation 20-minute consultation. You can book this, or simply get in touch by clicking the button below.

This short conversation is a chance for you to share a little about what’s been happening in your life and what you’re hoping to gain from counselling. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about how I work.

We can hold this consultation over the phone or online — whichever feels easiest for you. It’s simply a relaxed chat to help you decide whether I’m the right person to support you before committing to ongoing sessions.

Step 2: Finding What Works for Your

Once you’ve decided to go ahead, we’ll look at the best way to work together. I offer flexible session types so you can choose the setting that feels most comfortable:

Face-to-Face Sessions (Chester)
Meet with me in a calm, confidential space in Chester. This setting allows you to step away from day-to-day distractions and focus fully on yourself.

Online Sessions (UK-Wide)
Convenient and accessible from anywhere, online counselling offers the same level of care and support as in-person sessions. It’s ideal if travel or scheduling are challenging, or if you simply prefer the comfort of your own space.

Home Visits (Ellesmere Port & Chester)

For clients who may find it difficult to travel, I can offer home visits within these local areas. This option provides a familiar and comfortable environment while ensuring you receive the same professional support.

Sessions last around 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, but I’ll always work with you to find a rhythm that suits your needs and lifestyle.

Step 3: How We'll Work Together

Every person’s experience is unique, so as an integrative counsellor I use a combination of counselling approaches to best support you.

Integrative Approach

No single approach works for everyone, so I often draw on a blend of methods - tailoring sessions to your needs, goals, and personality. The focus is always on what feels right and supportive for you, creating a way of working that feels natural and effective:

  • Psychodynamic Counselling

This approach focuses on understanding how past experiences and relationships influence how you think, feel, and respond today. Gaining this insight can help you make sense of patterns and emotions that may be holding you back.

  • Person-Centred Counselling

At the heart of this approach is empathy, acceptance, and understanding. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your feelings openly, helping you build confidence in your own choices and direction.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a practical, solution-focused approach that helps you identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts or behaviours. It can be particularly effective for managing anxiety, stress, and low mood, giving you tools to use in everyday life.
